What a valuable organisation. I had my son in South Africa and had no support other than the wonderful doctors, nurses and our family and friends. It would have been great to have been able to look for support from people in the same position. Keep up your wonderful work!

I am so glad I found your website, my baby boy, due on Sept 2011 has a CDH and possibly VSD, It really is a daunting time, and it is hard to find anyone else out there in the same situation. My partner and I are coping well at the moment, but its always in the back of our minds, Ive read the stories on the home page, They are all very moving, and have helped me a great deal. Thank you so much for creating this site, your doing a great job.

My Daughter is having Twins boys, but has found out the one twin has CDH.
I am srambling looking for all the info possible ,so I can be prepared for what to exspect.
I can see how this effects so many families, and to you all my thoughts are with you ,and from that I will try and take some strength from this site and stay possitive. x

      Hi Marika
Hope all is going well with you and your family. The best thing you can do is stay positive for your daughter. This can be hard at times. My grand daughter was born with left sided CDH in December 2009. I shed many tears for my son and his wife, prior to the birth. Thankfully it all worked out for them. The is a lot of info on the net but it can be overwhelming and not always factual. The best thing you can do is maybe join your daughter on her visits to the doctors. Sometimes you will hear things that she may not due to her emotional state. Each and every case is different so I can only wish you and your family all the best. Take care.

        Thank You Carol,
My twins were born 21 st April 2011,@ 31 weeks.
Tyzaak and Zaine. Zaine (CDH)servived only 22 hours.
Sadly Tzaak has been diagonsed with Cererabl polsy.
Our rollercoaster ride with all the emotions associated with early birth, loss and now CP has had an enourmous inpack on our lives.
My thoughts go out to all exspectant families and best wishes to those whom have been touched by CDH.
        Regards Marika

So sorry for your loss Marika. It must have been heart breaking for your daughter and the entire family. I am sure Tyzaak has filled your families lives with lots of joy and love. Since I last wrote I have been blessed with another grandson, once again not a great entry into our family. He was born 14 weeks premature, and thankfully he is a healthy little boy now. But the roller coaster that you speak of is always a ride I dont enjoy. Sending my best to you and your family. Your little angel cherub Zaine will be in our thoughts as all the angel cherubs are. Stay strong and bless you and your family.
          Regards Carol
