Chantelle and Josh were 20 weeks pregnant with 3 boys at home, when they received news that baby Noah would be born with CDH – Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, a hole in his diaphragm.
After a stressful pregnancy, traumatic labour and several surgeries Noah was fighting for his life. Chantelle remembers when he opened his eyes at 8 days old, when she hugged him on day 12 and his first cuddle with dad on day 14.
“On day 28, Noah had his second day in a row of weight gain, a mere 15g, but it meant our baby boy would be heading home,” says CDHer mum Chantelle.
Now 3 years old, the first few years of Noah’s life have been challenging with many more surgeries but despite all his battles, little Noah does not let it slow him down, he’s an adventurous and happy little boy, who loves getting dirty!
On July 29, Chantelle will host the annual Noah’s Hope fundraiser event in Bendigo to raise funds to for CDH Australia to support families on their CDH journey. This year’s theme is Winter Wonderland Casino Night.
If you can’t make it to the beautiful town of Bendigo, you can still contribute by making an online donation. Every little bit helps.
Tickets or online donations are available here
A big cheer for Chantelle from your CDH Australia Family! It’s going to be an amazing night!
