Volunteer

All roles within CDH Australia are filled by volunteers and we are always looking for volunteers to help. You must be a member of CDH Australia and sign our volunteer rules (pdf) before becoming a volunteer. We have a number of vacant volunteer positions that we need filled, which are listed below. If you are interested in any of our vacant roles please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, or for the fundraising/funding committees our Fundraising Coordinator, for further information.

Vacant volunteer positions include:

  • State Contacts: (ideally one surviving member and one grieving member per state). Welcome new members, inform new members of services we have and distribute published info to hospitals, doctors and clinics.
  • Telephone Support Contacts: (ideally at least one surviving member and one grieving member per state. Surviving parents who were diagnosed inutero would also be good to have listed for expectant parents). Welcome new members and be a telephone contact for families that need someone to talk to.
  • Research Co-ordinator: Conduct CDH research to keep the group informed on latest treatments and statistics. This would involve online research and where possible, keeping in touch with medical centres around Australia and internationally that deal with CDH.
  • Newsletter Secretary: Send out newsletters to offline members and assist the Editor as needed.
  • Fundraising / Funding Committee Members: Decide and co-ordinate fundraising events and assist in the completion of funding applications.
