Val Manuelpillai

CDH Australia Board Member Val

Val joined the CDH Australia Board in 2021 and has a long history of giving back to the community.

Val has worked with Colony 47, a charity that looks after the homeless and the disadvantaged youth, he has also volunteered with several not-for-profit organisations including as Treasurer of Dixon House Melbourne, as a member of the Rotary Club Salamanca, he sits on the Clinical Governance Committee of Royal Hobart Hospital, and is the Tasmanian Chair for Interplast, which sends volunteer medical staff to the Asia Pacific to perform reconstructive surgery and after-care.

Caring for people in the CDH community is also in the family. Val’s wife is a Paediatric Surgeon who works at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Through his wife’s work, and in his role as the Interplast chair, Val has developed a keen interest in helping families impacted by their children having health issues at birth.

Val is looking forward to using his financial skills to help make sure no family faces CDH alone.
