Volunteering with CDH Australia

Our organisation is led by a team of passionate volunteers who sit on our Board and are actively involved in the running of our national charity.

Volunteers work remotely from home at times that suit their schedule. The average commitment is 2-4 hours per week to support the CDH community. The team meets once a month for an online meeting.

Previous experience as a Board member or volunteer is not essential, however a commitment to a 12-month posting is a requirement, and any of the following skills or background will be highly regarded:

  • An experience with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia
  • Familiarity with the Australian medical system
  • Background in counselling or allied health
  • Experience in management or administration
  • Governance, compliance, and regulatory experience
  • Event management or fundraising experience
  • Background in retail, customer service, or sales
  • Marketing or communications background
  • Not-for-profit experience
  • Volunteer management
  • Accounting, finance, and MYOB (Treasurer role)

Training: We will provide training for successful candidates. Our current volunteers will help you as you become familiar with the role.

New in 2022

Our new Research Project, currently in development, is a collaboration between our community, a leading research institution, and highly regarded medical professionals involved in the care of CDH babies and families.

We have previously funded two other research projects which improved the treatment options and outcomes of babies born with CDH.

Now is a great time to join our team to help shape and be involved in the new research.

Current opportunities

Each year, at our Annual General Meeting, the volunteer Director of the Board positions are declared vacant, and we welcome new applicants.
